Pyrate Llama Recording Studio is built inside of a funky old barn on a ranch in the Yamhill County wine country just west of McMinnville, Oregon. We have the best of  both worlds - the analog warmth of vintage style gear with the modern fidelity of cutting edge technology.

The live room is a spacious 20x30 foot room that was used for drying walnuts, a painting studio, and at one point an old time dance hall. The control room is 20'x20'. Currently we have 2 guitar amp isolation rooms.

The sound, liveliness, and reverb of hundred year old wood makes recording music here easy, inspirational, and fun. Our motto is - Relax, Recharge, Record.

Rates

We have very competitive rates. We are somewhat flexible and depends on the project. Contact us, tell us about your project and we'll let you know what it will cost. You might just be surprised. We usually have an hourly rate for tracking, and a fixed rate for mixing. If an hourly rate is not your style, then we can work out a total project rate as well. But generally speaking an hourly rate is going to be cheaper for you in the long run.

Simple overnight accommodations are available, rates negotiable based on size of project. This consists of sleeping in the control room or live room on couches/futon. In the summer we have a stage built on a hill that is awesome to pitch a tent on.

If you want to rent the studio and use your own engineer the cost would be $30 per hour. An in house engineer will also be present.
